For boating in Kentucky, the biggest event at Lake Cumberland is the Lake Cumberland Poker Run. Friday, September 6th kicks off a weekend of fun, music and fast boats. It has become one of the nation's most popular speedboat attractions. Most of the action occurs on Friday and Saturday, but the speedboats typically end up staying through Sunday to enjoy the Lake Cumberland area attractions. And, for Kentucky lakes it has the best straight-shot boating opportunities.
The Lake Cumberland Poker Run's home base is State Dock Marina, known as the houseboat capital of the world. One dock becomes 'Houseboat Row' for Poker Run participants with an adjacent dock showcasing their 125 speedboats. Slot van die paarl.
